Brethren Village’s Executive Management Team
John N. Snader, President & CEO
Serving as Brethren Village President and Chief Executive Officer, John is responsible for direct planning and coordination of the continuing care facilities and health care facilities at the Village. John began his employment at the Village after having served as Sr. Vice President for Customer Experience at Ephrata Community Hospital. John is a graduate of Elizabethtown College with a degree in Political Science, and he earned an MBA at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He is an adjunct faculty instructor in Saint Joseph University’s graduate health care administration program, and has also been a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph’s University and Penn State University, in both the undergraduate and graduate schools.
Rick Chambers, Director of Dining Services
Rick serves Brethren Village as Director of Dining Services. A native of Lancaster County, Rick is not a stranger to Brethren Village. A Gettysburg College graduate, he was previously employed with BV’s dining services and has additional experience in the senior living industry including Willow Valley, The Highlands and most recently, Bethany Village. Earlier in life, Rick opened his own fine dining restaurant, inn and reception site, The Railroad House in Marietta, with his wife Donna.
Kevin Ditzler, Vice President of Development
Kevin serves Brethren Village as Vice President of Development. He comes to Brethren Village from WITF Public Media where he served as Regional Director of Philanthropy. During his time at WITF he worked with major donors, on-air fundraising for TV & radio, planned giving, and gifts of vehicles and land. Kevin has never viewed his work as fundraising. He feels his job is to partner with the community to create a meaningful impact in the lives of others through philanthropy. In his spare time, Kevin subcontracts as a local theater director for Lampeter Strasburg High School, EPAC and Susquehanna Stage Co. Kevin oversees the Development and Volunteer Services teams.
Nancy Eshleman, Vice President of Human Resources
Nancy serves Brethren Village as Vice President of Human Resources. She is responsible for providing leadership for HR processes and practices including staff recruitment and employment, professional development, talent management, communications, compensation, benefits, and recognition. Nancy holds an undergraduate degree from Alfred University and a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Tara Horvath, Vice President of Health Services
Tara oversees the delivery of clinical, therapeutic, social, and related services for Residents in the Skilled Care and Personal Care areas of Brethren Village. She provides leadership and oversight for operations for both Skilled Care areas and Personal Care. Tara promotes Resident’s health and overall well-being by focusing on Resident-centered care, professionalism of the team, and disease management models. She works directly with the Directors of Nursing and Personal Care Administrator developing quality, standards of care, and implementing smooth transitions of care through the continuum. Tara is a Registered Nurse and holds licenses as a Nursing Home Administrator and Personal Care Home Administrator.
Dixie Kiehl, Personal Care Home Administrator
Dixie serves Brethren Village as the Personal Care Home Administrator for Village Manor, Terrace Crossing, and Terrace Crossing Memory Support. She is responsible for ensuring compliance with the PA Department of Human Services Personal Care Home regulations, leadership and management of the Personal Care Team, hiring and training of Personal Care Team Members, overseeing the quality of life and care for the Residents who live in Personal Care, and fiscal management of Personal Care. Dixie is a graduate of Shippensburg University and has held a Personal Care Home Administrator’s license since 2008.
Rodney Martzall, Vice President of Finance/CFO
Rodney Martzall, CPA, serves Brethren Village as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He comes to Brethren Village from Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP Lancaster where he served as Senior Manager. Rodney graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BS in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Dana Statler, Director of Chaplaincy Services
Dana Statler joined the Chaplain Team in 2006, and in July 2018 became Director of Chaplaincy Services. Dana’s undergraduate degree is from Messiah College. He received his M.Div. from Bethany Theological Seminary and was CPE Certified at Lancaster General Hospital in 2011. Dana is a board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.
